Paul Balmer, M.D.

One of WFMC’s founding physicians, Dr. Balmer has practiced quality family medicine in the Salem community for many years. Dr. Balmer also leads two of our Centering Pregnancy® groups, performs countless hospital deliveries every year, and is on the Salem Hospital Medical Staff Quality Committee.

 

Denise Busch, FNP, PMHNP

Denise joined the WFMC family in 2010. Prior to graduating from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at OHSU in June 2010, she worked for 15 years as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. In addition to seeing patients as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she helps oversee the mental health programs at WFMC.

Tiffany Cox

 Tiffany Cox, FNP

New to the WFMC family, Tiffany Cox joined this past July after graduating from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at OHSU in 2010. Previously, she worked as a RN on a post-operative unit in Portland, and has served as an adjunct faculty member for Linfield College School of Nursing. Tiffany also studied abroad in Australia for a semester at Notre Dame Australia School of Nursing.

 

Kathleen Krall, FNP, MPH

Kathy has provided quality care to her patients at WFMC since 2006. As a family practitioner, she treats families in their entirety. She also speaks some Spanish.

 

Salvador Ortega, M.D.

Dr. Ortega is one of WFMC’s founding physicians. He has worked in the Salem community for over 15 years, providing a wide range of services to the under-served populations in the area. He currently leads a Centering Pregnancy® group in Spanish and spends a significant amount of time at Salem Hospital visiting his patients who are receiving in-patient care and delivering babies.

 

 Joanna Picchi, FNP, PNP

Joanna works at Luckiamute Clinic, WFMC’s second location in Falls City. She has worked there for over 18 years, providing quality care to English and Spanish speaking families in the area.

Stephanie Schmidt, FNP

Stephanie has served WFMC’s patients since 1998.  She sees a wide range of patients, both English and Spanish speaking. Stephanie has worked as a mother-baby nurse and as a La Leche League leader, which has led her to have a special interest in promoting breast feeding.

Nitikul Solomon, M.D., FAAP, ABIHM, MSHA

Dr. Solomon, a licensed pediatrician who has specialized in pediatric gastroenterology, joined the WFMC team in 2010. She came to us from Naturalways Pediatrics, a holistic pediatric practice, and is certified by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine.

Robert Steele, M.D.

Dr. Steele is one of the founders of WFMC and acting CEO. He specializes in Internal medicine, though currently he focuses more on the administrative aspects of the clinic. Dr. Steele has provided medical care to the under-served populations of Salem for over 15 years and continues to be a strong public advocate for the patients we serve.

 

 Kayla Street, PA-C, MPH

We are excited to welcome our newest provider, Kayla Street, who joined us just this past winter! She graduated from the George Washington University in August 2011 with a dual degree (Physician Assistant degree with a Master of Global Health). Previously, Kayla has also spent a few years serving as a Peace Corps. Health Education Volunteer in Albania.

 

Alison Takeo, FNP

Joining WFMC in the summer of 2011, Alison is one of our newest providers. She has 20 years of experience as a nurse practitioner working in various settings. Most recently, she worked at Marion County Health Department where she focused on prenatal care, STD services, and school based health centers. In addition to seeing patients at WFMC, she provides services at the school based health center.

Anne Wild, M.D.

Dr. Wild has worked at WFMC since the beginning in 1995. Dr. Wild is fluent in French and Spanish. She currently facilitates two Centering Pregnancy® groups in Spanish, while continuing to serve a wide-range of family practice patients.
